Saturday Night Live might be hiring five new actors for its upcoming 39th season.

With three veteran cast members leaving at the end of season 38 (Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis), the sketch comedy show is looking to fill several slots. According to Deadline and other sources, there are five frontrunners at the moment.

Beck Bennett, who has been seen recently in the AT&T commercials with kids, is one of the contenders. Bennett is in the sketch comedy group Good Neighbor with comedian Kyle Mooney, who is also being considered for an SNL spot.

Another comedian, John Milhiser, is a frontrunner to take a spot. He is involved with the online web video company Above Average, a project by SNL creator Lorne Michaels. Actress Noël Wells, who does many sketches and impressions on her YouTube channel, is another contender being considered.

All four of these contenders have been members of the Upright Citizens Brigade, a well-respected sketch comedy organization. Current cast members Bobby Moynihan and Kate McKinnon have attended the UCB in the past.

The final contender being considered for a slot is Michael Patrick O'Brien. O'Brien has been writing for SNL for the past four seasons and has appeared briefly on the show over the years. He is also famous for his 7 Minutes in Heaven videos on YouTube and Yahoo.

Another veteran cast member is expected to leave by December: Seth Meyers. The Weekend Update anchor will leave the show at the end of the year to prepare for his new late night talk show.

Saturday Night Live will premiere its new season on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.
