The latest trailer for American Horror Story: Coven was released Monday on Facebook.

The trailer, titled Stakes, features three women dressed in all black who appear to be burning at the stake. The camera then pans over to a side view of the women and the stakes, revealing that they have not been tied to their stakes. They are simply floating above the fire below them.

The 20-second trailer features Winter Song by Sarah Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson before cutting to the American Horror Story: Coven title card and theme song. Winter Song was also used in the second teaser trailer, which was titled Pins and Needles.

The Stakes trailer makes an obvious reference to the witch trails, which occurred in Salem, Mass., in the 1600s. FX network president John Landgraf revealed in early August that American Horror Story: Coven would involve Salem witches relocating to New Orleans to escape the witch trials.

Series regular Jessica Lange will play Fiona, the leader of the Salem witches. Sarah Paulson, another series regular, plays Fiona's daughter Cordelia. In New Orleans they face off against local Voodoo magicians led by Angela Bassett's Marie Laveau. A behind-the-scenes photo was taken on the set of American Horror Story: Coven on Aug. 19. The photo shows three women dressed in white and hanging by the neck outside a large house. Enstars reported about previous set photos that include Fiona leading her pack of witches.

American Horror Story: Coven is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 10 p.m. on FX.
