A UFC fighter is joining the cast of Bones for an episode in the upcoming ninth season.

Former mixed martial artist Chuck Liddell will be playing a character similar to himself in episode 4 of Bones season 9, according to a Wednesday report by TV Guide. According to the report, the character is considered to be a tough that who helps Booth (David Boreanaz) with the case of the week.

Liddell's episode will likely air on Monday, Oct. 7, assuming there are no repeats in Bones' schedule. Liddell's character may become intricately involved with Booth and also try to help him catch Pelant (Andrew Leeds) the serial killer, since it has previously been announced that this will be a primary storyline in the first few episodes.

Executive producer Stephen Nathan revealed to TVLine in a Tuesday report that Booth and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) would be dealing with various pre-wedding rituals in season 9, including bachelor and bachelorette parties.

However, the rituals "might not be in the right order," according to Nathan. "We want to continue to mess up tradition while kind of keeping it traditional at the same time."

A new promotional trailer was released for Bones season 9 on Tuesday. The trailer, narrated by Boreanaz and Deschanel, features never-before-seen footage from season 9. Deschanel teased that there will be numerous surprises in the upcoming season.
