'Vampire Diaries' Season 5 Spoilers: Elena's Transition To Whitmore College Be The Downfall To Her Relationship With Damon? VIDEO
The CW's Vampire Diaries is set to make its return in the fall, as new photos from its season 5 premiere have now surfaced on the web.
The images from its first installment, titled I Know What You Did Last Summer, were recently posted by E! Online on Aug. 29, which feature Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candace Accola) as they adjust to life at Whitmore College.
The site also hints that season 5 won't be continuing where loyalists left off in season 4 - with Elena and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) lovey dovey and Stephen buried underwater. Its storyline will start off a couple of months after last season's finale.
While at the 2013 Comic-Con in July, executive producer Julie Plec had chimed in on what initially lies ahead for the newly rekindled couple.
"It's been a fun summer for Elena and Damon. And Elena's going to college now, so they're going to try to make the long-distance thing work," she said.
The CW's Vampire Diaries is slated to air its fifth season on Thursday, October 10. Its spin-off series, The Originals, its spinoff series, will begin its first season on Tuesday, October 15.
