'Sherlock' Season 3 Cast: Irene Adler To Stay Onboard Or Exit Popular TV Series? [VIDEO, NEWS]
To the satisfaction of its loyalists, BBC's hit TV series, Sherlock, will be returning for its third season in the fall.
While cast leads Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman) will be gracing viewers with their presence in the upcoming series, it appears as though a member of its supporting cast, Irene Adler (Lara Pulver) may not be joining them in the upcoming episodes.
Pulver recently dished to Spinoff Online about the status of her character. While Irene is indeed alive and kicking, the actress states that the creative brass will more than likely be turning their focus elsewhere in season 3.
"She's definitely not dead, which is always a good start. I think there are some other integral key characters they want to introduce into Season 3, which is kind of going to be their focus, and some new stories to tell," she said.
While Pulver won't play a large key role in the upcoming installment, she is more than confident that audiences will again be seeing Irene in the future.
"I have no doubt at some point Irene Adler will be back in that BBC Show. It was such a wonderful piece of writing on Steven Moffat's part, and it's become a very kind of iconic relationship between Holmes and Adler," she added.
