The third season of PBS' hit TV show, Downton Abbey, gave fans their fair share of surprises, which included the estate ending up in financial hardship, and the deaths of both Lady Sybil (Jessica Brown Findlay) and Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens).

To top the losses off, actress Siobhan Finneran, who dons the role of the maid O'Brien, announced that she wouldn't be coming back to the series either.

While the upcoming season will undoubtedly be focusing in on how new mother and widow Lady Mary will continue on with her life following her hubby's car accident, they'll be several other new faces that have been attached.

In episode two, Tom Cullen will debut as Lord Gillingham, a family friend who'll pay Downton a visit for a party, according to TV Guide.

Veteran actor Paul Giamatti will reportedly be introduced in the season 4 finale. Entertainment Weekly reported that he will be playing a playboy.

Other notable characters joining the cast include Jazz singer Jack Ross (Gary Carr) and Evelyn Napier's (Brendan Patricks) associate Charles Black (Julian Ovenden) in episode 4. Nelle Melba (Kiri Te Kanawa) will also come on board the program as an opera singer at some point.

Downton Abbey will be kicking off its fourth season on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 in the U.S. For more of the latest info on the popular British-American drama, be sure to keep checking back with Enstars.
