Actress Taylor Schilling, who dons the role of Piper Chapman on the cult-like followed Netflix series, Orange Is The New Black, recently took the opportunity to dish on her approach to playing her incarcerated character, who clearly doesn't fit the mold as a prisoner.

The 29-year-old spoke to Ad Week on Sept. 2 about a variety of topics, which appropriately included her hit program.

Schilling touched on how she gets into Piper mode while prepping for a scene.

"I tried to keep it as much as I could to what her reference points were before she went into prison. So, a little bit more on where she was living, her relationship with [fiance] Larry and her family, so as to have more of a prison experience going in blind," she said.

The actress also elaborated on what she likes about her character's quirks, which plays into her very own preference for the extreme.

"My favorite part about Piper is the variety of things I've been able to do with her. I loved that Michael Jackson dance, but i also loved the last scene of the last episode. I love all of the stuff I was able to do with [girlfriend] Alex and Larry. I love the extremes," Schilling added.
