Stanislas Wawrinka is looking to advance into his very first Grand Slam semi-final. However, the task at hand won't be an easy one as he'll have to take on defending champion Andy Murray on Thursday in quarter-final matchup.

Nonetheless, Wawrinka has improved his performance level immensely after recently coming up short in both Montreal and Cincinnati.

Interestingly enough, Murray is currently playing for the first time since winning the Slam and is coming off of a tough duel against the likes of Denis Istomin. The former had to mount a comeback after falling one set behind, struggling with his second serve. He won only 51% of points after finding his stroke.

When Murray took on Wawrinka in 2012, it was Wawrinka that dominated 6-1, 6-2. However, the match was played in extremely different circumstances, as it was on clay. Murray has never performed his best tennis on the respective surface, and he was also battling a back injury during that time.
