Now just over a month away from its return for season 5, The CW's Vampire Diaries will be coming back with a handful of exciting storylines, which includes Silas/Stefan's (Paul Wesley) correspondence with an easy on the eyes character by the name of Tessa.

According to TV Guide, Tessa is an ex significant other of Stefan's that's "beautiful and exotic."

Executive producer Caroline Dries dished the details on the character to the site, revealing that she's not exactly one to forgive and forget.

"Tessa has a definite flair for fun. But she has a tendency to hold a grudge. You don't want to cross her," she said.

Wesley recently elaborated to TV Fanatic on his approach to playing Silas.

"[There's] temptation to sort of make Silas wildly different, and I didn't want to make him all of a sudden have some weird accent or walk differently just for the sake of differentiating them," he said.

The CW's Vampire Diaries is slated to air its fifth season on Thursday, October 10. Its spin-off series, The Originals, will begin its first season on Tuesday, October 15. Be sure to keep checking back for up-to-date details on the vampire TV series. The trailer for season 5 can be watched below.
