'Homeland' Season 3 Spoilers: Carrie Feels Responsible for Langley Bombing with Brody in Exile? [VIDEO]
The stars of Homeland teased a few spoilers about the upcoming third season of the series.
Claire Danes, who plays Carrie on the show, explained to Access Hollywood recently that the new season would be "sober in tone" at the beginning. Homeland left off in the season 2 finale with the CIA headquarters in Langley, Va. being bombed.
"[The CIA is] really facing the consequences of having failed to anticipate that attack and the devastation obviously was profound and they're in a time of shock still and real mournfulness," Danes explained. "They're grieving and I think Carrie feels, she felt responsible for 9/11. [And] boy, does she feel responsible for this incident!"
The season 3 trailer shows Carrie and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) giving testimonials about what happened that day at Langley. Meanwhile, Brody (Damian Lewis) is on the run after being framed for the bombing. Season 3 will find him in exile in a Middle Eastern country.
"You're gonna see a guy who's on the run," Lewis explained. "He is . . . the most wanted man on the globe, and I think the question is, 'Has Brody been taken care of by the ex-filtration process and the CIA, or has he been abandoned?' Those are probably two questions you can ask yourself. So where will they find him and what condition will they find him in?"
Season 3 of Homeland is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
