As the BBC lays out their programming for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary celebration, former Doctor Peter Davison has confirmed that he will be involved.

However, the fifth incarnation of the Doctor stopped short of saying if he would be joining Matt Smith (the Eleventh Doctor), David Tennant (the Tenth Doctor), and John Hurt (the Unnumbered Doctor) in "The Day of the Doctor" episode.

John Hurt to Play a "Dark Doctor" on Doctor Who?

"I'm making an appearance somewhere over that period of time but I can't reveal in what," Davison said, according to Bang Showbiz. "I can't reveal anything specific about it. I'm not allowed to. It is a big year for the show and we're all doing our bit for it. Trust me."

New Doctor Who Poster Revealed For "The Day of the Doctor"

While Davison it thoroughly imbedded in the series - asides from his work in classic Who, Davison's daughter Georgia Moffett played opposite Tennant in "The Doctor's Daughter" (see video below) and later married him - he believes that the time will eventually come when the Doctor is removed from TV once more.

Will Matt Smith be Killed by Cybermen in the Christmas Special of Doctor Who?

"There will get to a point where people get a bit tired of Doctor Who," Davison told Bang Showbiz. "I don't know, maybe it will need a little rest. I'd love to see it carry on but you can never tell."

Perhaps it will one day take another long hiatus, but for now fans can tune in for the 75-minute long "The Day of the Doctor" when it airs on Nov. 23.
