The marriage proposal cliffhanger that was set up in the season 5 finale of ABC's hit show, Castle, continues to keep fans buzzing as to whether Beckett (Stana Katic) will accept Castle (Nathan Fillion) as her future husband.

Show creator Andrew Marlowe had spoken about the potential holy union, and how the respective circumstance brings up more than initially meets the viewer's eye, according to the Christian Post.

"What's more interesting to us rather than what she answers is what are the consequences of those answers? What the answers are, to me, and I think our core fanbase, the answers are a lot less interesting than the questions those answers are going to raise. And how these two characters are going to navigate their relationship in light of it," he said.

Marlowe also stressed that while there is much speculation floating around about Beckett's response to Castle's request for her hand in marriage, he stated that her response is still safe until the program airs.

"Some of it is going to be accurate, some of it is not. We're just pleased people care and are talking about it," Marlowe added.

ABC's Castle will make its return with Valkyrie on Monday, September 23. Keep checking back for more of the latest details on the ABC series. A promo video that follows the fifth season's cliffhanger can be watched below.
