'Doctor Who' 50th Anniversary New VIDEO For Season 8 Christmas Special, Could Prove Cybermen Presence
The possibility that the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) will be forced into regeneration by an encounter with the Cybermen is becoming ever more plausible.
After a Doctor Who stuntwoman tweeted that she was excited to be playing a Cyberman in the upcoming Christmas Special, Whovians began to wonder if one of the Doctor's oldest enemies could be behind the end of Smith's stint as the iconic Time Lord.
While that tweet has since been deleted, a new on-set video has surfaced and it may lend credence to the rumor regarding a possible Cyberman appearance.
The video, which found its way onto Cosmic Book News, shows Smith and his companion, Clara (Jenna Louise Coleman), walking through a wintery scene, complete with snow, evergreen trees, and Christmas lights.
Smith and Coleman come into the frame, drawing closer as the Doctor talks and investigates the surrounding area with his sonic screwdriver. The handy device leads him to the conclusion that a signal of some sort is radiating form a nearby tower and the pair move to investigate.
However, the most intriguing aspect of the video is what the Doctor is carrying in his left hand. Round and silver, the object appears to have a bar that runs from the center of the sides and up over the top, a design that is very similar to the current Cyberman helmet.
While fans will have to wait until December to find out what the Doctor is up to, viewers must remember that just because Cybermen may feature in the episode, that doesn't necessarily mean that the Eleventh Doctor will meet his end at their hands.
