The first seven minutes of the premiere of Survivor: Blood vs. Water were released Monday by Entertainment Weekly.

The seven-minute clip features 10 returning players beginning the game with a loved one. As part of the new Day Zero twist, each pair is dropped off in a separate location. Host Jeff Probst says in the clip that sending the pairs to separate locations will allow the returning players to coach their loved ones and prepare them for the 39 days ahead.

"The loved ones aren't gonna be prepared and I'm gonna slit their throats," returning player Tyson Apostol says in the clip.

Survivor: One World contestant Kat Edorsson is returning for Blood vs. Water with her boyfriend Hayden Moss, who is also the winner of Big Brother 12. Moss says in the clip that he's already more prepared than any other loved one considering Big Brother is essentially Survivor in a house.

Survivor: Blood vs. Water News: Jeff Probst Picks Frontrunners for Upcoming Season

Probst talked to Us Weekly in a Monday report about the possibility of betrayals when it comes to certain pairings.

"This season will definitely have families and couples talking about their own relationships. It's inevitable," Probst explained. "You can't help but wonder: What would you do?"

This season brings the return of controversial Survivor: One World contestant Colton Cumbie with his fiancé, Caleb Bankston. Probst said that the choice to bring him back was not without hesitation.

"Bringing back Colton was definitely a controversial decision. But aren't you just a little curious about his fiance? I mean, who chooses Colton as a partner?" Probst said. "Caleb is super likable. Makes no sense."

Survivor: Blood vs. Water premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
