'America's Got Talent' Season 8 Winner: Dancer Kenichi Ebina Takes Down Compeition, Comedian Taylor Williamson in Second VIDEO
After 16 weeks of competition, America's Got Talent crowned Kenichi Ebina as the season 8 winner.
The Japanese native discovered dance when he was attending college in Connecticut. With an interesting blend of illusion, lighting, and movement, Ebina served to bring a original and unique performance to the NBC show.
The final voting rested on the Top 6 competitor's Tuesday night performances. Tasked with creating a new act as well as revitalizing one of their older works, the talented hopfulls had their work cut out for them in the final week.
Forte entered the finale with a new performance of and Italian tune titled Caruso. The operatic crooners then continued to steal the hearts of voters with their powerful vocals when they reprised their earlier performance of The Prayer with the addition of a choir.
Cami Bradley reached back into her arsanal and pulled out her memorable rendition of Cher's Believe to remind voters of her best work before rolling out this week's new performance of the Beatles' I Wanna Hold Your Hand. Competing against an array of vocalists, Bradley made use of her instrumental talents to try to put her over the top.
For his throwback piece, singer Jimmy Rose gave an encore performance of his original audition piece, Coal Keeps the Lights On. However, when the mellow country artist performed Garth Brooks' The Dance, the judges did not find it quite as impressive as hid previous works.
Kenichi Ebina re-performed his extremely impressive Robot Matrix as his first dance of the night. The intriguing dancer then moved onto his new performance, a number that involved multiple other dancers but was ultimately blasted by the judges.
Comedian Taylor Williamson and magician Collins Key had the hardest job when it came to repeating performances. Key decided go back to the same type of trick he used in his audition - close-up magic - while Williamson jazzed up his routine. However, when it came to new performance, Key dazzled with a trick involving audience members and hashtags while Williamson garnered laughs in a new standup act.
While all the finalists can potentially see success from their time on the show, but only one could walk away with the $1 million prize.
