'Mad Men' Season 7 Spoilers: Series Creator Teases Cliffhanger & Will James Wolk Return as Bob Benson? [VIDEOS]
Following the announcement that the last season of Mad Men will be split into two parts, series creator Matthew Weiner teased a few details about the final episodes.
Weiner revealed plans for the final season of the show when talking to TVLine at the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards.
"I have to do the whole show at once. We're gonna be shooting straight through - the whole 14 episodes," he explained.
Mad Men's seventh season will air seven episodes in spring 2014 and seven in spring 2015, but they will all be counted in the same season. Since they will be shooting the entire season in one period of time, there will likely be one continuous storyline through all 14 episodes. However, Weiner revealed, "Whenever we stop, there is a cliffhanger," referring to the Mad Men finale.

Although he was tight-lipped on what his characters will be doing in season 7, he said viewers can expect the first seven episodes to tell a story that will leave them eagerly waiting for questions to be answered in 2015. The script for the final season is currently being worked on.
Cast member Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy Olson on the series, said that she was excited about the new format of the show breaking into two parts. The actress said that she likes the break and compared it to AMC's other acclaimed show Breaking Bad, which is currently finishing the second half of its last season.
"It gives us all a chance to not have to say goodbye yet and I like that," she said at the Emmys.
Mad Men season 6 standout James Wolk, who plays the elusive Bob Benson, revealed that he still doesn't know if he will be starring in the show's last season. The actor is a regular on a new CBS sitcom called The Crazy Ones, but said he would be interested in playing Bob again on the AMC show.
"I don't know exactly what's happening with Mad Men - I'll just say it would be a honor to be back with those guys," Wolk said at the Emmys.
The first seven episodes of Mad Men's final season will air in spring 2014.
