'The Mentalist' Season 6 Premiere: New Trailer Shows Patrick Jane and Lisbon Argue Over Red John Investigation, Results in Danger VIDEO
The Mentalist is gearing up for its season 6 premiere but Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Agent Lisbon (Robin Tunney) aren't exactly seeing eye to eye.
A newly released scene (video below) from the premiere, "The Desert Rose," shows the pair discussing the problem as the head out into the desert for a case. Now that CBI director Gale Bertram (Michael Gaston) is on the suspect list, Lisbon is worried that he has purposely sent them out of town so that he can kill again.
As the search for Red John comes to a head, Jane and Lisbon are at odds regarding how to handle Lorelei Martins' confirmed list of suspects. With seven names to keep tabs on - Bret Stiles, Gale Bertram, Ray Haffner, Reede Smith, Bob Kirkland, Sheriff Thomas McAllister and Brett Partridge - Lisbon wants to utilize the resources of the CBI and her team while Jane is convinced they can handle it on their own.
This inability to agree on a course of action will put someone in danger.
"Jane and Lisbon are hot on the trail of Red John in the season premiere, but a disagreement on how to handle the situation may leave one of them in danger before the episode is over," teased series creator Bruno Heller, according to TV Guide.
However, they won't be the only ones in harms way. Although Jane tells Lisbon that anyone with knowledge of the list is in danger, the investigator will betray his trust later in the premiere. A previously released scene shows the lead agent revealing the list to Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) so that she can track the suspects' locations.
Guest staring in the episode are Josie Davis as Sonya, a truck stop waitress, and Lauren Stamile as Madison Yardley, the wife of the murder victim.
The Mentalist returns to CBS on Sept. 29.
