'The Bridge' FX Finale Spoilers: The Beast Revealed, Death Hits Close to Home, A Twist Ending Before Season 2 VIDEO
The Bridge is winding up its first season with a few surprises.
Airing on FX, the series is the Americanized version of the Sweedish series Bron and focuses on a joint investigation by an El Paso detective, Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger), and Marco Ruiz (Demian Bichir), a homicide detective from Chihuahua, Mexico.
Thrown together after the discovery of two bodies (one torso and one set of legs) on the Mexico/American border of the Bridge of the Americas. The season revolved around the search for the killer's identity and fans will be rewarded for their patience when "The Beast" in unveiled in the finale, according to Spoiler TV.
However, the episode won't pass without tragedy. With a big twist ending, Spoiler TV reports that "The Crazy Place" will focus on the fall out from the original murder and will feature the death of a main character's family member.
Due to the series recent renewal, the finale also holds the potential for a cliffhanger ending, if writers so choose. When the program returns next year, however, it will not be quite the same format.
"We're not going to have a 'serial killer of the season' every year." Said executive producer Elwood Reid, according to TV Line. "[The current case winds up] radically transforming the lives of most of our characters. The killer, in a very odd way, 'connects' people through his actions, so in the second season, we'll explore a variety of things."
The Bridge airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
