Once Upon a Time creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz addressed some questions fans may have in the wake of Sunday's season 3 premiere.

The season 3 premiere debuted some iconic characters that had not been seen before: Peter Pan (Robbie Kay) and Robin Hood (Sean Maguire). Kitsis told reporters after the premiere that the villainous Pan seen in the premiere was not always evil.

"What we've said before on the show - and what we've pretty much said this since season one - is in our minds, evil isn't born, it's made," Kitsis explained. "That applies to all our villains, including Peter Pan." Kitsis also said that the writers know that Pan is "a sick, twisted kid."

As for Robin Hood, the noble outlaw was seen in the season premiere staying at Rumplestiltkin's (Robert Carlyle) castle in the Enchanted Forest. Viewers learned that Robin Hood owes a lifetime of debt to Rumple. It can be expected that Robin Hood's story will be explored this year.

"I think you're going to get a little more into him in the beginning of this year, and we're definitely going to get a lot more of him in the second half," Kitsis said. "Sean [Maguire] brings a great - sense of honor [to the role] but also a sense of playfulness, which we think Robin Hood needs."

The co-creators also teased that episode 3 would have many interesting developments, including insight into what Regina (Lana Parrilla) is thinking regarding the trip to Neverland. The episode will also explore Neal's (Michael Raymond-James) storyline in the Enchanted Forest. Fans should expect Neal, Mulan (Jamie Chung) and Robin Hood to have "a wrinkle in their story" in the episode.

The next episode of Once Upon a Time airs Sunday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
