'Dancing With the Stars' Season 17 Episode 3 Recap: Bill Nye Eliminated on Hollywood Night? [VIDEOS]
The 17th season of Dancing With the Stars aired its third episode Monday night, which included the celebrities performing the songs from the movies.
Here are some of the highlights from the night:
High School Musical star Corbin Bleu danced the Quickstep with partner Karina Smirnoff to an Old Hollywood score. Judge Bruno Tonioli said their dance was "stylistically incredible" though judge Len Goodman said it was too hectic. The judges gave them a score of 26 out of 30.
Actress Elizabeth Berkley Lauren danced the Foxtrot with Val Chmerkovskiy to Come Fly With Me by Frank Sinatra. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said their dance was "flawless and beautiful" and Goodman compared it to "chicken soup to the eyes." The judges gave them a 25 out of 30 score.
Dancing the Quickstep, actor Brant Daugherty and partner Peta Murgatroyd performed an ode to the 1920s. Tonioli compared Daugherty to a matinee idol and Inaba called him a fantastic dancer. The judges gave them a 27 out of 30, the highest score of the night.
Comedian Bill Engvall stepped it up after his first two weeks with a western-themed Paso Doble with partner Emma Slater. Inaba said that he "nailed the Paso" while Goodman said that it was his best dance. The judges gave them a 24 out of 30 score.
Singer Christina Milian performed a Vaudevillian-themed Charleston with partner Mark Ballas. Inaba said that Milian had a "full-bodied performance" and Tonioli said she performed better than she ever had. The judges gave them a score of 26 out of 30.
Performing to Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend, Jersey Shore star Nicole 'Snooki" Polizzi danced the Quickstep with partner Sasha Farber. Tonioli said that the star was "on fire" while Inaba said she deserved a star on the walk of fame for her performance. The judges gave them a score of 25 out of 30.
After all 11 celebrities had danced, hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet revealed which were safe and which were in danger of elimination.
The hosts announced that TV scientist Bill Nye and partner Tyne Stecklein received the lowest combined votes from the judges and America. They became the second pair eliminated from the season.
The next episode of Dancing With the Stars airs Monday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. on ABC, featuring the 10 remaining celebrities dancing for guest judge Julianne Hough.
