To the excitement of its fans, AMC's hit TV series, The Walking Dead, will be making its highly anticipated return for season 4 in just six days.

Actor Andrew Lincoln, who dons the role of Rick, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly on Oct. 4 about the challenges that lie ahead for the prison group amid the end of the third season, which saw them taking in a massive amount of surviving Woodbury members.

"There's around about 50 new characters, which puts obviously an enormous amount of pressure on the group with the practical necessities of food and water. It is a third-world environment that we're existing in now," he said.

Aside from the fact that the group will have a significantly harder time seeking sufficient nutrition, the characters' close bonds with one another will surely be affected as well.

"We were a band of maybe 10 characters at the end of last season, so the character relationships and the group dynamics have changed radically. There are always going to be tensions within the group ... and you find us in a place where people are trying to wrestle with those problems as well as, obviously, the pressure of the walkers and survival," Lincoln added.

AMC's The Walking Dead will be making its return for season 4 with 30 Days Without An Accident on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 9/8 p.m. Central Standard Time.
