To the excitement of its many fans, AMC's The Walking Dead will be making its return for its fourth installment this weekend, and sadly, without last season's slain cast members.

Season 4 saw the deaths of Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies), T-Dog (IronE SIngleton), Andrea (Laurie Holden) and Merle (Michael Rooker), which doesn't exactly thrill Norman Reedus, who dons the role of Daryl.

The actor recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the unpredictability of the program, which he says leaves viewers hanging after they initially invested in the late characters.

"I hate it when one of the OGs goes. It really bums me out. It's taken three seasons for people to get wrapped up in certain characters. I think once you invest in those characters to have those characters go is just like 'Ah, man.' I think people are sort of left hanging on a string," he said.

While several principal roles were indeed killed off, the show will be getting several new faces, which predominantly include the bus-load of residents taken in from the dictator-ran Woodbury. However, the newfound manpower will be bittersweet, as Reedus explains that trust issues will inevitably arise.

"I think the internal fear has always been something hanging in the wind, and who's gonna f- over who and who can you trust? So now having that fear back inside the camp is just as scary as season 1," he added.

AMC's The Walking Dead will be making its return for season 4 with 30 Days Without An Accident on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 9/8 p.m. Central Standard Time. A promo video for the fourth installment can be viewed below.
