‘How I Met Your Mother’ Season 9 Spoilers: Barney Upset Over Robin Playing Strip Poker With Mom? [VIDEO, NEWS]
A new preview clip has been released for episode 5 of How I Met Your Mother and tensions will rise between future in-laws, according to The Hollywood Hills.
In The Poker Game, Robin (Cobie Smulders) will get into a fight with Barney's (Neil Patrick Harris) mother Loretta (Frances Conroy) and brother James (Wayne Brady), putting him in the middle of the dispute. While Barney seeks advice from Lily (Alyson Hannigan) on how to handle the situation without ruining his relationships with any of them, Ted (Josh Radnor) and Marshall (Jason Segel) get into an argument over "Thank You" notes.
Could a game of strip poker be at the root of all these problems? In the clip, Barney does seem uncomfortable that Robin was playing the game.
"Please don't play strip poker with my mom again," Barney begs Robin. "It's all kinds of confusing."
A number of problems have surfaced for Barney and Robin during their wedding weekend. They already dealt with the possibility that they could be distant cousins (they're not), James' divorce and Ted's plans to move to Chicago.
In Monday night's episode, Barney and Ted also came to terms with the latter's lingering feelings for Robin and how his indiscretion of holding hands with her broke The Bro Code. After temporarily taking Ted's status as the Best Man away from him, Barney later reinstated him, angering his replacement, Clown (Billy Zabka).
He wasn't happy about his demotion and snarled at Ted, "I'm coming for you Mosby."
How I Met Your Mother airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
