'The Voice' Finals: Christina Aguilera Explodes at Adam Levine Over Derogatory Lyrics {VIDEO]
"The Voice" coaches Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine clashed over Tony Lucca's solo performance on the finals Monday, a rock version of Jay-Z's "99 Problems."
Lucca decided to mute out the b-word in the song's hook: "I've got 99 problems but a mmm ain't one," he sang.
The coaches all seemed to like the performance including Christina who said it "sounded great" although she said the lyrical connotation was derogatory toward women.
Levine -his coach- defended the song's lyrics by saying the "b---ch Ain't one" line refers to life's problems and not to women.
Christina and Levine went back-and-forth until Levine explained "It's called a metaphor!"
Perhaps Levine knew she was going to get upset because Levine told her : "I love you Christina, but Tony, I thought you did fantastic," and ripped off his shirt, revealing a "Team Xtina" t-shirt.
Later on, when Chris Mann from Team Christina performed, the pop diva shouted to the audience: "This is a real man, who respects women."
Fans of the show were criticizing Christina on Facebook saying she had something personal with Lucca.
"Why does Christina have something negative to say every single time Tony performs? Does she feel the MouseClub competition or something? It's like she has to keep trying to prove to him she's still higher on the ladder than he is... not cool.," Sheri Milam said.
"Xtina is a Tony Luca hater BIG time!!! This whole season she barely could give him a compliment even when he did well! I don't think Tony should have picked that song but even if he picked another song she would have found a way to make some snooty comment towards him. Not cool.," Peggy Loiseau noted.
