Monday night's installment of ABC's crime drama, Castle, ended with quite the twist in terms of Beckett's (Stana Katic) future.

Due to leaked information, Beckett got the axe from the job in Washington, D.C., which will surely send her character in a different direction.

When the CIA told the NYPD to close its murder investigation due to fear of tipping off its Russian targets, Beckett still gave away important intel to Castle (Nathan Fillion) and company, which ultimately led to her removal

Katic recently dished to TV Guide on Oct. 8 about the less than ideal predicament, admitting that her character must once again find a purpose.

"What [Beckett] is at her core really is a little bit of a super heroine. She's someone who wants to help people that aren't being protected and will extend herself sometimes to her own detriment for people," she said.

So, yeah, she is going to be a fish out of water because she won't have that purpose after she loses this job. She's not able to go back to the NYPD. And do, she's kind of floating around for a little bit. And hopefully, she'll land," she said.

ABC's Castle will be airing Number One Fan on Monday, Oct. 21 at 10 p.m. EDT. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular TV series. The trailer for the upcoming episode can be viewed below.
