American Idol Finale Will Feature Rihanna's Where Have You Been Performance
It has been confirmed that Rihanna will perform on the grand finale of American Idol this month. A statement released by Fox confirmed the appearance, saying that the Umbrella singer will perform her latest single “Where Have You Been” on the evening of May 23.
Jennifer Lopez is scheduled to perform tomorrow for this week’s results show. Coldplay, Lana Del Rey, Nicki Minaj, Carry Underwood and Katy Perry have performed this year on the show.
Last week, Skylar Lane was booted off the show. Now only four contestants remain: Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez. Joshua Ledet stole the show last week and received a standing ovation when he sang the Bee Gee’s “To Love Somebody”.
Judge Jennifer Lopez was shouting praises at him after his performance and even compared him to James Brown and "the greatest soul singers and performers ever."
Randy Jackson also gushed: "I've been doing this 11 years, and you're one of the best singers ever on this show. Ever!"
The favorites to win this season are Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips.
This week’s themes for the top four contestants are “California Dreamin” and “Songs I Wish I wrote”. What songs do you think the contestants will choose?
