NCIS gets a blast from the past - Mike Franks.

Franks was the original leader of the Major Case Response Team who helped Leroy Jethro Gibbs become an NCIS Special Agent. The old friend is linked to a new case in the upcoming episode titled "Anonymous Was a Woman."

"What was Mike Franks into boss?" Anthony DiNozzo is heard asking Gibbs.

Will Cote de Pablo Ever Return To NCIS?

Some other changes have affected the NCIS team this season, primarily the exit of Ziva David. Fans, however, can expect more characters on season 11. One character is Ellie Bishop, who many assumed is Ziva's replacement. But, according to the show's Gary Glasberg that's not the case.

"Well I don't necessarily view her as a successor," he recently told Entertainment Weekly. "The way we approached it was, how do we bring someone new into the fold? What could she bring to the group and to the party?"

Glasberg described Bishop's character (Emily Wickersham) as a NSA analyst and a "thinker." He added: "I think she'll provide something different... I'm really excited about what she's going to bring to this and how she's going to bring the character to life. We'll have some fun with it."

Another new character is Timothy McGee love interest, Delilah (Margo Harshman). While her character was briefly introduced in the beginning of season 11, she will return for more episodes.

"That's a relationship that we're having some fun with, and we've got some plans in store," Glasberg said. "I'm excited about it, actually."
