'The Walking Dead' Steven Yeun on 'Conan' Talks Hazards Of Filming And Why He Wants To Be A Zombie VIDEO
The Walking Dead season 4 is in full swing and Steven Yeun stopped by Conan to talk the hazards of filming in Georgia and why he would rather be a zombie.
Yeun, who plays Glenn Rhee on the widely successful AMC show, said the Atlanta based show has led to some awkward situations, especially considering his character's recent romantic arc.
"My dad, I remember he called me after the last season's little love scene...with Maggie, in the garage," Yeun recalled. "And he just leaves me a voice mail, 'Steve, you a man now. Bye.'"
However, his family's awkward reactions to his onscreen encounters aren't the hardest part of work on The Walking Dead. Competing with the weather and natural wildlife of Georgia is much harder to contend with, according to the actor.
"If you watch in the being of each season, all of us might be a little bit plump," Yeun explained. "Then you get down to the end of the season and we're all emaciated, like walking bones, because we're losing so much water wait as we go."
Well, that is definitely one way to make sure your cast looks like they've been on the run from a horde of hungry zombies. While he's slowly wasting away, Yeun is also busy trying to ward off the local wildlife, although he hasn't been overly successful.
"I've had a run in with a tick," Yeun admitted to Conan O'Biren. "It was really bad actually...I went to go in the shower and I pulled my pants down, and I had a guy on my guy."
Bearing that unfortunate incident in mind, Yeun admits that, in the event of a zombie apocalypse, he would choose to be bitten.
"What if Walkers actually have it really good?" Yeun mused. "What if they're walking around and...maybe it's an orgasm the entire time. That's why they're groaning an moaning...what if we as people, our flesh, tastes amazing?"
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on the AMC.
