Fans of AMC's hit TV series, The Walking Dead, were surely happy to see the zombie series make its return this past Sunday for its fourth season.

While loyalists were thrilled to see their favorite prison camp members grace the small screen once again, many were left wondering just when and how the Governor (David Morrissey) will resurface.

Up until this point, it was previous reported that Woodbury's former big bad would have two stand-alone installments this season "told in flashback form," according to Wet Paint.

However, comic book creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman recently confirmed to Entertainment Weekly on Oct. 14 that the Governor will be coming back, but didn't specify exactly when.

"He's definitely going to appear at some point this season. It's possible there are elements of his return that have already been set up in some ways you might not have noticed. But when he returns it will be at a time when you least expect it," he said.

The Walking Dead will make its return to the small screen with its second episode of the fourth season, titled Infected, on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 9/8 p.m. Central Standard Time. Keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular zombie series.
