For better and worse, Benedict Cumberbatch's character of Sherlock in BBC's Sherlock currently has two ladies in his life: Irene Adler (Lara Pulver), who Sherlock gravitates towards and Molly Hooper (Louise Brealey), who fancies the unaware detective.

According to Latin Times, fans of the hit TV program are "torn between who they want to see Sherlock end up with."

While numerous loyalists certainly feel that Sherlock's chemistry with Irene is strong, there are others who undoubtedly think that Molly's loyalty to him makes her his perfect partner in love.

Irene is the first woman to garner both Sherlock's attention and attraction. She even challenges the detective on both "an intellectual and devious level that he clearly enjoys," stated the site.

Sherlock seemingly views her as a challenge, showing last season that he still cares for her via letting her live when she was supposed to be killed; a true act of forgiveness being that Irene was plotting with Moriarty to take him out. Hence, she clearly cannot be trusted which severally hinders any potential spark.

On the other hand, Molly has been the complete opposite of Irene and has shown that she's constantly devoted to him, even helping him stage his own bogus death to end season 2.

Interesting to note, it's now been two years since Sherlock was last seen with new episodes on the small screen. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest information on the program. Only time will truly tell how Sherlock's love life will ultimately pan out.
