Homeland season 3 has been poorly received by fans and critics of the Showtime series.

There have only been three episodes that have aired from season 3, but Internet commenters have not been kind about where the CIA drama is going as a series. Multiple users on Homeland's Facebook page have claimed that season 3 "sucks" or is "boring" and "disappointing."

The first two episodes largely comprised of the government investigating the attack on Langley in the season 2 finale as well as the CIA trying to pick up the pieces. There has also been a significant emphasis on Dana Brody (Morgan Saylor), the polarizing daughter of Sgt. Nicolas Brody (Damian Lewis).

GQ magazine said that the premiere episode "did little to reassure those fans who felt the series has lost its way." One of the things they suggested to make them keep watching was to bring Brody back to the show.

Episode 3 heavily featured Brody and his time spent as a prisoner at a remote Venezuelan location. Regardless, Salon slammed the episode as "the worst episode of Homeland ever."

Fans who have been dissatisfied with a lack of action this season may be pleasantly surprised to find a more action-packed episode 4. Showtime released a trailer for the upcoming episode, in which Carrie (Claire Danes) is finally out of the psychiatric ward and confronting Saul (Mandy Patinkin). She also picks up a gun at one point; meanwhile, Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham) tells Saul that Carrie could be telling anything to anybody.

The next episode of Homeland airs Sunday, Oct. 20 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
