American Idol Top 4 Performances: Hollie Cavanagh Gets Poor Reviews from Judges
American Idol fans fear Hollie Cavanagh will be eliminated tomorrow after she failed to impress judges on Wednesday's Top 4 show.
While her first performance of "Faithfully," almost brought Jennifer Lopez to tears, wowed judge Randy Jackson and was applauded by Steven Tyler, her second one of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me," wasn't a success.
"A little too much vibrato, too much shaking," Lopez commented.
Jackson said the song choice was wrong and added "It gave you nowhere to go. There were no moments for you," he said.
Tyler thought her emotional performance fell a little short.
Still, Hollie's fans continued to show their support on Facebook.
"I think Holly did better than the judges give her credit for," Mary Miller commented on Facebook.
Tonight the Idols sang songs from California bands as well as songs they wish they had written.
The judges gave standing ovations to Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez and were impressed by Philip Phillips.
Despite tonight's reviews, none of the contestants have secured their place in the Top 3.
American Idol has had many surprises in previous seasons when favorite singers have unexpectedly been eliminated after lack of votes from viewers.
