'Survivor: Blood vs. Water' Episode 5 Recap: Returning Players Face Their First Tribal Council [VIDEO]
Another castaway was blindsided on Wednesday night's episode of Survivor: Blood vs. Water.
Galang Tribe: Aras Baskauskas, Gervase Peterson, Kat Edorsson, Laura Boneham, Laura Morett, Monica Culpepper, Tina Wesson and Tyson Apostol
Tadhana Tribe: Caleb Bankston, Ciera Eastin, Hayden Moss, Katie Collins and Vytas Baskauskas
Redemption Island Inhabitants: Brad Culpepper, Candice Cody and John Cody.
The episode began with Hayden voicing his concern about Caleb after the latter went against their alliance and voted out Brad. Meanwhile, at Redemption Island, Brad apologized to Candice and John for targeting and voting out John earlier in the game.
At the Galang tribe, Laura B. said she felt like an outsider in the tribe full of returning players. Aras reinforced his alliance with Gervase, Monica, Tina and Tyson, which meant Kat, Laura B. and Laura M. were on the outside of their tribe's power structure.
At the Redemption Island duel, Brad, Candice and John were tasked with taking apart a crate full of planks, building a bridge with the planks, then flipping the planks over to solve a puzzle. John was the first to finish, followed by Brad, meaning Candice was officially eliminated from the game. John was allowed to give a clue to the location of the Hidden Immunity Idol to one castaway. He gave it to Monica, who promptly threw it in the fire because possessing the clue would hypothetically put a target on her back.
Monica said she was feeling demoralized after seeing Brad at Redemption Island. Tina said she wasn't sure if Monica was going to be a threat or an asset going forward in the game.
Meanwhile at Tadhana, the tribe was weakened through their injuries, especially Katie's feet. Vytas said he wanted to get in with Caleb to ensure that he wasn't the next target.
The Immunity Challenge involved one member from each tribe racing down a slide and grabbing a ring. They would then toss the ring hoping to land it on a post. The first tribe to win five matches would win immunity. Tadhana won the challenge -- their first victory since the beginning of the game. This meant that Galang would be required to go to Tribal Council for the first time.
Back at camp, Laura B. tried to stir up trouble by telling Kat that Laura M. and Monica were complaining about Kat competing in the challenge. Meanwhile, Aras and Tyson discussed the idea of getting Laura M. out so that she could beat Brad at Redemption Island. This would allow them to control Monica more easily.
At Tribal Council, Aras and Tyson's plan worked and Laura M. was voted out by a vote of 7-1. She later joined Brad and John on Redemption Island.
The next episode of Survivor: Blood vs. Water airs Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
