American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy recently revealed details on Misty's (Lily Rabe) Stevie Nicks obsession and how it will play into this Coven season.

"When we got to this witch idea, I thought, if you're Misty and you have grown up alone and you don't know any other witches, there's one witch you probably would know and that's Stevie Nicks," Murphy explained to Entertainment Weekly in a Thursday report.

On Wednesday night's episode of American Horror Story: Coven viewers were introduced to the true extent of Misty's resurrecting powers and she brought an alligator and Kyle (Evan Peters) back to life. The witch told Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) that Nicks, member of the band Fleetwood Mac, was an inspiration to her.

He explained that Nicks was the only other witch Misty would know, growing up alone, though he clarified that the Fleetwood Mac member is not actually a witch in real life.

"I think [Misty] just wants to be part of a tribe," Murphy explained. "I love what we're writing with the witches being a metaphor for any persecuted minority group. She grew up not knowing or seeing anybody else who was like her. I think a lot of people can relate to that idea."

The co-creator also said that he thought it was fitting for Misty to resurrect herself after being burned at the stake after Rabe's character last year, Sister Mary Eunice, burned to death in a furnace.

Going forward with the season, Murphy said Misty would be discovered at some point.

"We're playing with a witch hunter idea this year. She at one point is discovered," he revealed. "She doesn't want to live in this world; this world is too hard for her. But at a certain point she has to adapt or die."

American Horror Story: Coven airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX.
