Nina Dobrev & Derek Hough Break Up Due To Her Spending Too Much Time With Former Boyfriend Ian Somerhalder? [Update]
Amid the news that newbie couple Derek Hough and Nina Dobrev have broken up, many fans are conveniently speculating that the split had something to do with her former flame Ian Somerhalder still being in the picture.
While no legitimate reason for why the two celebrities went their separate ways has yet to be confirmed, Perez Hilton suspected that Somerhalder may have been a reason via the site's following statement:
"Hmmm maybe it had something to do with Nina helping ex-boyfriend/current co-star Ian Somerhalder's dog give birth recently???
On Oct. 8, the 34-year-old took to Twitter to share the activities of his offspring-bearing pet.
"Live from the whelping box In Atlanta! Panting, pushing, contraction - Wow. Make no mistake about it - Ladies rule. Women of every species blow my mind ... Incredible what mamas go through! Love to you mamas - all over the world. Jeez."
However, it was a tweet by the likes of former flame Dobrev on the same day that piqued the gossip site's curiosity, as she was by his side for her ex's newest additions.
"Birthing little Nietzsches ... Such a beautiful + equally terrifying thing to witness ... The miracle of life :) #Wow"
Dancing with the Stars dancer Hough and Vampire Diaries' Dobrev had made the decision to call their relationship quits after just six weeks because it reportedly "played itself out," according to Us Magazine.
While the pet labor almost certainly isn't the primary reason for the breakup, it does indicate that the former longtime couple and onscreen item still care for one another deeply.
