Lady Gaga will make a cameo appearance in an episode of The Simpsons. The episode, which will air May 20, will be titled Lisa Goes Gaga and will feature Lady Gaga visiting Springfield to cheer Lisa Simpson up.


Gaga, is said to be very excited for the role and admitted that she was nervous when filming her part for the season finale. She told the Telegraph: "I make music but I don't do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so convincing and sincere and wild and funny I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humour."


She added that filming her part was "one of the coolest things I've ever done. My dad's probably going to do 80 backflips when the episode comes out."


Other notable celebrities to appear on the show are Tony Blair, Simon Cowell, The Beatles, and Dustin Hoffman. The hit Fox TV show is the longest running American sitcom. The show recently celebrated its 500th episode in February. Talk show host Conan O'Brien had written several episodes of the show in the early 1990s.


The Simpsons have been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000. It has received 27 Primetime Emmy Awards, 30 Annie Awards, and a Peabody Award. Many have hailed it the greatest TV show of all time.
