Neal's (Matt Bomer) new handler might not be long for the world according to the latest spoilers for White Collar.

Tim DeKay, who plays Agent Peter Burke on the series, told TVLine recently that "something very dramatic happens to the new handler" in the upcoming second episode. David Siegel (Warren Kole) is Neal's new handler in the wake of Peter's promotion to head of the White Collar division.

Though Peter has been promoted to a high position, "he still gets out there [in the field]," DeKay assured. "We get to see Peter pull some cons and go undercover."

Peter will secretly miss being out in the field with Neal now that he has received a promotion.

"Peter is excited with the direction of his career," DeKay explained to TVFanatic recently. "Yet he realizes deep down inside that the best times he had at the bureau were when he and Neal were on the hunt. And so, to see another handler and the two of them doing the stake out and brainstorming together, it eats at him."

Episode 2, titled Out of the Frying Pan, will feature a storyline involving a wealthy family. Guest stars include Zachary Booth (Damages) as Patrick Wolcott, the family's prodigal son and Kara Hayward (Moonrise Kingdom), the family's adolescent heir Beatrix Wolcott. Richard Thomas (The Waltons) plays the family patriarch Grant Wolcott.

White Collar airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on the USA network.
