As expected, AMC's hit zombie series, The Walking Dead, has kicked off its fourth season with the same quality of action and suspense that has made the program a success over the past few years.

Actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays the role of the now-widowed prison group leader, Rick Grimes, dished to Rolling Stone on his dedication to the principal role, which is apparently nothing out of the ordinary on set for his fellow cast and crew.

"There's something in me that's definitely masochistic. If I don't feel it's true, the crew understands and goes, 'Keep rolling,'"he says.

On the subject of commitment to one's craft, Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) spoke about the grueling Georgia conditions that the entire production has had to endure during the hot summer months of filming season 4.

"It's a tough job. We're out here running, getting bruised, with the heat and bugs. We've had people come do the show and halfway through, they're like, 'F**k this! It's 120 degrees outside,'" he said.

While the U.S. economy isn't exactly fiscally fit, TWD comic book creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman admitted that he's the one who's ironically reaping the benefits with the landscape of his TV series.

"Apocalyptic storytelling is appealing when people have apocalyptic thoughts. With the global economic problems and everything else, a lot of people feel we're heading into dark times. As bad as it is for everything else, I'm benefitting greatly," he said.

The Walking Dead is set to make its return to the small screen for episode 3, Indifference, on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 9/8 p.m. Central Standard Time.
