An American man revealed on the Nov. 6 episode of TLC's Extreme Tightwads his plan to sell one of his testicle for medical research.

Mark Parisi, a Las Vegas marketer for an upscale coffee shop and bakery, he is willing to have one of his testicles removed in a medical research study to earn $35,000.

"What you do is you go in and you donate one of your testicles, they replace it with an artificial one and when you check out after 14 days you get a check for $35,000," he explained on the episode.

Parisi has participated in several medical trials before as a means to not only get the check but to also get free medical checkups, which can save him around $700 a year.

Parisi also admitted in the episode that he had previously done an Ebola virus study, which paid $5,000 a week.

"Everyone was panicked when my friend and I did this study...it was never tested on humans or animals before...we were the first two in the country to have it done," Parisi proudly said in the episode. "It's $5,000 for a week, so why would I not do it?"

Parisi said keeping the scrubs from each medical study he participates in is another way he saves money. The versatile pants are good for work and exercise, as well as other clinical trials.

"I saved on laundry, they're cheap to clean, and they were free," he said.

Another study Parisi hoped to participate in was a "flatline" study where his heart would be stopped for for one minute, but the $25,000 payout was nixed by the FDA.

Parisi has not participated in the testicle study yet, but is likely to give it a shot.

"I'm really excited and really anxious and waiting to do [it]" he said.
