Jessica Sanchez nailed a Mariah Carey song Wednesday night in the Top 3 performance show.

In one of the most crucial performances of the competition, Sanchez performed Mariah Carey's tender ballad "My All" that judge Jennifer Lopez chose for her.

The challenge for Sanchez was tough knowing that the judges usually tell contestants not to do Mariah songs, according to Randy Jackson tonight.

But Sanchez delivered.

"That was absolutely beautiful, perfectly the right song for you," Jackson said. "I'm telling you what, I think it's one of the best times a Mariah song has ever been performed on TV."

"Hard song!" said Lopez. "But you did it so beautifully, and you did it in your own way. ... You didn't even go for the big part at the end, and I love that."

Earlier Lopez said that she wanted Jessica to "kill" the tenderness of the song.

"When you sing, you make people hang on your every note," Steven Tyler told Jessica predicting she will win the competition.

"I hope you just get used to encore. ... In another crazy way, you'll be the last one standing here, I believe."

Sanchez also performed "I don't Wanna Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith as her personal choice song.

Joshua Ledet performed "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James which Jackson chose for him and "Imagine" by John Lennon as his personal choice.

Philip Phillips performed "Beggin" by Madcon which Steven Tyler selected for him and "Disease," by Matchbox 20 as his personal choice.

In the last round Ledet sang "No More Drama" by Mary J. Blige, Sanchez sang "I'll be There" by Jackson 5 and Phillips performed "We've Got Tonight" by Bob Seger.

One of the three will not make it to the finals.
