Mariah Carey had recently been interviewed saying she's not interested in watching Britney Spears on The X Factor USA, sparking rumors that she is not happy with Simon Cowell for choosing the "Dangerous" singer over her.
When Carey was asked by Extra what she thinks about Britney Spears going over to the X Factor, she said: "You think I focus on that stuff? I love her, honestly, I think she's a very nice person, but I don't care who's going on that show show, as long as it's not me."

Carey reportedly expressed her interest in joining the show when music mogul Simon Cowell first announced his plans to launch the hit UK show in the States. However, if plans had been made then, they had to be dropped due to Carey's pregnancy with her twins. Judges for the first season of the show were Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger (who replaced Cheryl Cole) and L.A. Reid.

The official judges for his season were announced as Britney Spears and Demi Lovato - a job which Carey might have wanted to take. Her interview with Extra portrays Carey as not caring less about the show - even though she has performed in the UK's X Factor several times.

Carey seemed to have wanted to hush those rumors when she tweeted yesterday: "@BritneySpears & @SimonCowell of course I luv+care about you dahhlings, congrats (sic)! U never know what's true or gossip, I was joking around!"
