The Blacklist is preparing to introduce Liz Keen's father, and the ailing man will have a connection with the ever-complicated Raymond Reddington.

Tom and Liz are attempting to settle down into a normal life but the world keeps throwing them curveballs. In "General Ludd," Liz will get a phone call from her father while she works to take down a highly organized group that wishes to cripple the American financial system, according to Spoiler TV.

"In "General Ludd" we will learn more about Liz's past and we will do it by telling the story of her adoptive father and the relationship that not only she has with him but Red has with him as well," said executive producer Jon Eisendrath in a new Behind the Blacklist feature.

Although fans have speculated that Liz is really Reddington's (James Spader) daughter and last week's episode showed that Red did, in fact, have a family of his own, the man that Liz actually calls 'father' goes by the name of Sam, according to E!. However, considering the absence of her real father, the question of her parentage could still be called into question.

A new promo for tonight's episode (see below) reveals that Red and Sam are no strangers. The two will have a conversation during which a bedridden Sam desperately what's to tell his daughter something, but Red won't allow it. Could it have to do with how Red knows so much about Liz?

Find out what Red's next move is when The Blacklist airs tonight at 10 p.m. on NBC.
