Joshua Ledet said he felt at peace with the results from American Idol yesterday.

The 20-year-old singer from Louisiana was eliminated last night. Jessica Sanchez from California and Phillip Phillips from Georgia are heading to the finals.

Ledet cried on stage after performing his last song "It's a Man's Man's World" by James Brown, but he assured he felt relieved and happy for his fellow contestants.

"Honestly I didn't think I was going to cry. I felt good about the whole situation. But when people come up to you and try to comfort you, then the tears start coming. With all their support I lost it a little bit," he told reporters after the elimination show.

"I was super excited for Phillip and Jessica," he continued. "I felt relieved and a lot of pressure was off of me. I feel really good."

Ledet has a giant career ahead of him, according to the judges.

"He got a lot of standing Ovations, probably more than we've ever given anybody, any season. That's a testament to his talent and his performances," Judge Randy Jackson said in a press conference Thursday night.

Earlier in the competition, Steven Tyler dubbed him one of the “top two idols of all time” and Jennifer Lopez praised him saying that there has not been a singer like him in 50 years.

"Jennifer told me to keep my head up and that my career is only going to go further from here," Ledet said.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest said 90 million votes were cast last night to help the contestants head to the finals.

The American Idol community had mostly negative reactions to the results and posted messages on Facebook and Twiiter saying voters were not rewarding the best talent.
