The Mentalist will be making a major time jump following the conclusion of the Red John arc - a two-year jump.

Once Jane (Simon Baker) goes head to head with his elusive nemesis, he will be a wanted man while the CBI undergoes a bit of a shakeup courtesy of the Tyger, Tyger conspiracy, according TV Guide Magazine.

"There's been a thorough house-cleaning in California law enforcement as a result of the vast conspiracy lead by Red John," said series creator Bruno Heller, according to the magazine. "Ghosts from the past will continue to play a part in the show, but it'ss defiantly a brighter day. At first, Jane wants nothing more to do with crime solving, but - like Michael Corleone in The Godfather - he's pulled back in."

If you've seen Baker in a recent interview, he's looking rather scruffy. This could be because his character will spend a bit of time away from his normal, clean shaven life while hiding out in South America, according to TV Guide Magazine. Meanwhile, none of Jane's old comrades will still be working for CBI.

However, viewers still have to get through the next two episodes before the post-Red John plot can come into play.

Although Jane survives the explosion that rocked the end of "Fire and Brimstone," some of the Red John suspects won't have been so lucky, according to TV Line. As the team struggles to get the jump on Red John in "The Great Red Dragon," they have to be wary of those with the red dot tattoo.

The Mentalist airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
