'Drop Dead Diva' Season 6 Premiere Being Scripted, Creator Confirms; Season 5 Deleted Scenes Released [VIDEO]
Although a start date has yet to be revealed, creator and executive producer of Drop Dead Diva confirmed on Saturday, Nov. 16, that a script for the show's sixth season is currently being written.
Josh Berman tweeted the following:
Not much is known about season 6 of Lifetime's comedic drama, but last season ended with some shockers.
On the season 5 finale on Nov. 3, Jane's mother, Elaine, died. In her final moments, she revealed that she knew Jane was not really her daughter. In fact, she had known the truth since the accident -- when Deb wound up in Jane's body. Regardless, Elaine told Jane that she loved her.
Elaine was not the only person who knew Jane's big secret. The original Jane came back this season, now in the body of a young woman named Brittney, and when Grayson was comforting Jane and the two started kissing, Brittney showed up to mess it all up for the woman in her body.
Drop Dead Diva returns with 13 new episodes in 2014.
The show is about a shallow wannabe model who dies in a sudden accident only to return in the body of a plus-sized attorney. It stars Brooke Elliott, Margaret Cho and Jackson Hurst.
The series released deleted scene from season 5, episode 8 (50 Shades of Grayson), where Tuttle talks to Grayson about basketball and Grayson's win record.
