NHL fans can live stream tonight's faceoff between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals for free online.

The two teams will take the ice at 8 p.m. ET from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

The Penguins recently regained their No. 1 spot in the Metropolitan Division thanks to wins over the Nashville Predators and the Anaheim Ducks. With a 13-8-0 record, the Pennsylvania team will go head to head with their close D.C. rivals for the first time this year. Holding second place for the Metropolitan Division, the Capitals only trail the Penguins by one point.

Also on Wednesday night's schedule is a 10 p.m. ET faceoff between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Calgary Flames. Although Columbus is last for the Metropolitan Division and the Flames are currently in sixth place for the Pacific Division, the two teams both have 17 points and hold a record of 7-11-3. However, the Flames come into tonight's game following a Monday night win over the Winnipeg Jets while the Blue Jackets are still smarting from a Tuesday night loss to the Edmonton oilers.
