Bones fans will be introduced to the new "Ghost Killer" when season 9 picks up again in January.

Bones executive producer Stephen Nathan spoke with Entertainment Weekly recently and confirmed several details about what fans can expect as season 9 continues.

The Ghost Killer story arc will first be introduced in January 2014, according to the report. The Jeffersonian team will notice a link between several cold cases, leading them to investigate the mysterious serial killer.

"[The Ghost Killer] is a very ephemeral presence and sort of an evil that lurks in the shadows, someone whose identity we are not even sure of," Nathan told Entertainment Weekly.

However, viewers can still expect to see the old serial killer Pelant (Andrew Leeds) in an upcoming episode, despite dying earlier in the season. "We also haven't, let's say, felt the end of Pelant," Nathan teased.

Enstars previously reported that Brennan (Emily Deschanel) might see a vision of Pelant as a ghost in the episode, though this has not been confirmed. Nathan also discussed an upcoming episode that will focus entirely on Hodgins (T. J. Thyne).

The episode will air in February 2014, in which, "Hodgins finds out . . . some secrets about that family that are going to be quite surprising to him. And it is not going to be grand political secrets or anything like that. It's going to be very, very personal."
