'Orange Is The New Black' Season 2 Spoilers: Piper To Go More 'Native' In Prison While 'On A Continual Search For Her Identity'? [VIDEO]
With the astounding amount of success of Netflix's Orange Is The New Black, its fans have been flocking to the Internet by the boatloads to get their hands on the next big season 2 scoop.
Creator Jenji Kohan, who's also known for her previous work on HBO's hit TV series Weeds, recently took the opportunity to dish on OITNB and its lead character, Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), who she describes as flawed.
"She's [Piper] a flawed human being; we all are. We're always trying to be better but failing. She's a woman on a continual search for identity. A lot of the show is about figuring out who you are and what mask you're going to wear in what environment. Ultimately we found it most interesting to see her kind of go native," she explained.
While Weeds was effectively able to turn the creative volume up in the world of comedy-dramas, Kohan feels as though Orange Is The New Black has surpassed even that bar..
"I've kind of been walking a tightrope without a net for a while. Weeds [a half-hour series] was this weird hybrid comedy-drama thing we came up with, so this is the same, but doubled. I just think if you have really engaging characters, there's always more story," she added.
Netflix's Orange Is The New Black is set to make its return for its sophomore installment at some point in 2014. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest info on the popular series.
