The season 4 finale of HBO's hit TV series, Boardwalk Empire ended on a surprising note with the death of Richard Harrow (Jack Huston). However, the ways of prominent underground figure Dr. Valentin Narcisse clearly caught the attention of fans, amid a failed assassination attempt on his life.

Jeffrey Wright, who plays the role of Narcisse, told Entertainment Weekly on Nov. 25 that his character was at a receiving end of a "real spiritual assassination" when J. Edgar Hoover (Eric Laden) makes him become an informant for the Bureau of Investigation.

"I think for him, what will be interesting is that he will be the only one who knows. I imagine that will be a fairly tortuous kernel of knowledge for him because he doesn't feel that what he's doing prior to that is undermining of the Negro Race," he said.

Wright went on to elaborate on Narcisse's ways, stating that his character is a bit naive when it comes to being aware of what he's been doing.

"Whatever he does to serve himself, serve those like him, serves the interest of the Race. If he has to separate the wheat from the chaff by weaning out the weaker among the Race then it only strengthens the cause, so he doesn't feel that what he's been up to is outside the realm of progress. Now he's clearly betraying everything that he holds dear so it'll be an interesting continuation of the journey," he added.

While no airdate has been officially set as of yet, HBO's Boardwalk Empire is slated to return for its fifth season at some point in the fall of 2014. Be sure to keep checking back with Enstars for more of the latest info on television.
