Renee Zellweger might be at the top of the list to appear on the upcoming 18th season of Dancing With the Stars.

The producers are looking to feature a season of all Oscar winners, according to a new report by RadarOnline. An insider is claiming that Zellweger, who won the Oscar for Cold Mountain in 2004, is the top contender the producers are looking to cast.

Zellweger would allegedly be "offered mega bucks to do DWTS and compete for the chance of putting the mirror ball trophy next to her Oscar," according to the insider.

The producers are also raising their payouts to attract Zellweger and other prominent actors and actresses to the show, according to the source. Two Oscar winners have appearing on Dancing With the Stars in the past: Cloris Leachman and Tatum O'Neal.

Which Two Judges Might Be Quitting Dancing With the Stars?

The producers are reportedly hoping that featuring Oscar winners will give the show higher ratings than they've been getting over the past few seasons. Starting in season 17, the show went from two nights a week to one for the first time since season 1.

The producers of DWTS allowed a few celebrities with previous dance experience on season 17, such as Corbin Bleu and Elizabeth Berkley Lauren. This would allow Zellweger to compete as well, considering her roles in such films as Chicago.

"Now that the rule that stars had to be total dance novices has been broken, it opens the door wide for someone like Renee, who hoofed it in Chicago, to strut her stuff," the source said.

Dancing With the Stars season 18 is set to premiere in March 2014 on ABC, though the network has not yet scheduled a specific premiere date.
